Pune: A case of sexual assault and blackmail has come to light in Kondhwa, where a 19-year-old college student allegedly abused his 18-year-old classmate by using a secretly recorded video to coerce her into submission over a period of two months.

The accused befriended the victim and brought her home under the guise of introducing her to his mother. When they arrived at his residence, he took advantage of her trust, forcefully establishing sexual relations with her. Unbeknownst to her, he recorded a video of the assault and later used it to blackmail her into meeting his demands.

The incidents reportedly occurred between November 2024 and January 12, 2025. The accused repeatedly threatened the victim with the release of the video, forcing her to accompany him from college to a lodge on multiple occasions. After each encounter, he would drop her back at college.

Out of fear and intimidation, the victim refrained from sharing her ordeal. However, the situation escalated on January 12 when the accused physically assaulted her in the college library after she refused to comply with his demands. This incident compelled the victim to finally report the matter to the Kondhwa Police Station.

Based on the victim’s complaint, the Kondhwa police arrested the accused. The investigation is being led by Sub-Inspector Haseena Shaikh, who confirmed that charges of sexual assault, blackmail, and other relevant offenses have been filed against the accused.
