Pune, 18 August 2025: A shocking case of prolonged sexual abuse of a minor girl has come to light within the jurisdiction of Pune's Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station. The alleged perpetrator is not a stranger, but a family acquaintance identified as Sanjay Kulkarni.

Police reports state that Kulkarni exploited his familiarity with the family to gain access to the girl. He allegedly took private photographs of the minor and then used the threat of circulating them on social media to repeatedly sexually assault her over a span of three years. Trapped by this fear, the victim remained silent until she could endure no more.

Showing immense courage, the girl and her family approached the Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station and filed a formal complaint against Kulkarni. Taking immediate and serious cognizance, the police have registered a case against him under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

An investigation is currently underway. Police officials confirmed that Kulkarni's arrest is expected shortly. The incident has sparked outrage in the community, with strong demands emerging for the accused to face the strictest possible punishment under the law.
