Pune, 18 September 2025: A midnight shootout shook Pune’s Kothrud locality when members of the Nilesh Ghaywal gang opened fire near Shinde Chawl, critically injuring a man. The incident took place late Wednesday night, creating panic among residents.
The injured victim, identified as Prakash Dhumal, sustained bullet injuries to his neck and thigh and was rushed to a private hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. According to initial reports, the attackers fired three rounds before fleeing the scene.
Police have identified the prime accused as Musa Shaikh, Rohit Akhad, Ganesh Raut, and Mayur Kumbhare, all believed to be members of the Ghaywal gang. A search operation is underway to trace the shooters, and teams from multiple police units have been deployed across Pune to nab the suspects.
Authorities are investigating the motive behind the attack while maintaining tight security in the area to prevent further violence.
