Pune Crime: Youth Seriously Injured in Group Attack Near Z Bridge

Violent incident followed a minor dispute; police investigation underway

Pune, 6th August 2025: A violent incident occurred in the heart of Pune city on Tuesday night (August 5), when a group of assailants attacked a youth with a sharp weapon near Z Bridge in Narayan Peth. The attack is suspected to have stemmed from a minor argument over putting up a banner. The incident happened around 8:30 PM and left one person seriously injured.

Following the attack, the group also vandalized two vehicles in the area, spreading fear among local residents. The injured youth was rushed to a nearby hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment.

As the news spread, a crowd gathered at the scene, prompting the Vishrambaug Police to arrive swiftly and take control of the situation. According to police officials, they are actively scanning CCTV footage from the area to identify the attackers. An FIR has been registered against five to six unknown individuals, though no arrests have been made yet.

Senior police officials have assured that the investigation is moving forward and expressed confidence that the accused will be apprehended soon.
