Pune: Jitendra Dudi has been appointed as the new Pune District Collector. With this development, three members of the same family will now be managing critical administrative responsibilities in Pune. Dudi’s wife, Aanchal Dalal, an IPS officer, is serving in Pune with the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF).
Adding to this family’s administrative prominence is Shekhar Singh Dalal, Dudi’s brother-in-law, who has been serving as the Commissioner of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation for the past few months.
Jitendra Dudi will replace outgoing District Collector Dr. Suhas Divse, who has been promoted to Secretary rank and appointed as the State’s Settlement Commissioner.
The transfers were formalized by an order issued on Thursday by V. Radha, Additional Chief Secretary of the General Administration Department. Alongside Dudi’s appointment, Santosh Patil, CEO of the District Council, has been named the new Satara District Collector.
A 2016 batch IAS officer from Jaipur, Rajasthan, Jitendra Dudi began his career in Jharkhand and later served as Assistant Secretary in the Central Government. He was posted to Maharashtra in 2018 and has since served in various key roles, including SDO of Junnar in Pune and CEO of Sangli Zilla Parishad. Most recently, he held the post of District Collector in Satara.
Dr. Suhas Divase’s tenure as Pune District Collector saw several achievements, including the peaceful conduct of Lok Sabha and Assembly elections and notable progress in voter registration. His leadership played a key role in the swift land acquisition for the eastern segment of the ambitious Pune Ring Road Project, with 85-90% of the process completed during his term.
However, his tenure was not without controversy. Allegations were raised by Khed Taluka SDO Jogendra Katayare, claiming political affiliations, which led to complaints filed with the State Election Commission.
