Pune Engineering Students Shine at Barclays-Capgemini Ideathon, Win Three Awards

Pune: Students from G H Raisoni College of Engineering and Management (GHRCEM), Pune, have won three prestigious awards at the Barclays-Capgemini Ideathon 2024, organized by ICT Academy.

Competing against 106 teams from across the country, the teams showcased their innovative solutions and technical prowess through three rigorous evaluation stages.

The team New Gen Innovators (CSDS), led by Shubham Santosh Singh, secured the first prize, earning a cash reward of INR 1 lakh. The team comprised Shubham Singh, Satyam Vishwakarma, Gaurav Shirsat, Preeti Devadiga, Sneha Kumari, and Shruti Varankar, with mentorship provided by Hemant Chaudhari and Dr. Deepika Ajalkar.

Concept Crew, under the leadership of Aditya Dandare from the Computer Engineering department, won the second prize and received a cash reward of INR 75,000 along with certificates.

Power Rangers 2.0 (Data Science), led by Anuj Shukla, was awarded the Spotlight Award, securing the third prize and a cash reward of INR 25,000. Team members included Prasad Dhend, Anuj Shukla, Kshitija Gosavi, and Vaishnavi Hande, mentored by Dr. Deepika Ajalkar and Dr. Arti Patle.

The award ceremony took place at Barclays, where Neelesh Sirdeshmukh, ICT Coordinator, and Dr. Swapnil Mahajan, Head of Innovation and Incubation, guided the participating students.

Dr. R.D. Kharadkar, Campus Director of GHRCEM Pune, stated, "We are delighted by the outstanding performance of our students at the Barclays-Capgemini Ideathon 2024.

Competing against some of the brightest minds from across the nation, our students have demonstrated remarkable innovation, hard work, and dedication. Their success reflects the quality of education and mentorship provided at GHRCEM."
