Pune: A heated altercation over a vehicle collision has led to cross-complaints being filed at Bund Garden Police Station, involving Hemant Bagul, the son of former Deputy Mayor Aba Bagul, and bike rider Fayyaz Syed. The incident, which occurred near the HP petrol pump in Mangalwar Peth, has also been captured on CCTV.
According to Fayyaz Syed, he was traveling from Maldhakka Chowk toward Mangalwar Peth when the driver of a red car suddenly opened the car door. This caused Syed’s bike to swerve and hit a black Goldstar vehicle parked nearby. Angered by the dent to the car, Hemant Bagul allegedly assaulted Syed.
Syed approached the Police Commissioner and alleged that Bagul also threatened to shoot him. He has claimed that political influence exerted by the Bagul family is delaying police action in the matter.
Meanwhile, Bagul has filed a counter-complaint, claiming that Syed violated traffic rules by overtaking from the left and colliding with his car from behind. Bagul stated that Syed reacted aggressively when questioned and accused him of using abusive language. Bagul has also alleged that Syed is attempting to defame him for publicity or financial benefits.
CCTV Footage and Ongoing Investigation
The incident was recorded on CCTV, where Bagul can be seen assaulting Syed. However, Bagul has argued that the footage is incomplete and does not capture the entire sequence of events.
Both complaints have been recorded at the Bund Garden Police Station, but no formal charges have been filed so far. The investigation is ongoing.
