Pune: In a deeply disturbing case reported in Pune, a 37-year-old man is alleged to have sexually abused his 17-year-old daughter over the past 11 months.

Police stated that the man threatened his daughter, instructing her to remain silent about the abuse, or he would “leave the family on the streets.”

The minor recently filed a complaint with the Kondhwa Police Station, leading to the registration of a case against her father under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

According to the police, the alleged abuse began in December 2023 and continued until November 23, 2024.

The father is accused of inflicting physical and psychological harm on the minor, while also threatening her into silence. The abuse reportedly caused significant emotional distress for the girl.

The incident came to light when the victim’s mother, who works as a domestic worker, discovered what had been happening.

She approached her employer for support before taking her daughter to the police station, where the authorities recorded the girl’s statement.

The police investigation is ongoing, led by Assistant Police Inspector Vikas Babar. Authorities are working to gather evidence to support the girl’s claims.
