The fires occurred in Kondhwa, Yerawada, and Shivajinagar areas, with the most severe one taking place in a sofa manufacturing factory in Kondhwa’s Yewalewadi area.

Around 1:30 p.m., a fire broke out at the sofa factory while welding work was being carried out. The blaze was intensified by the explosion of a small gas cylinder stored inside the factory. Firefighters worked for over an hour to control the fire. Tragically, a worker, Haroon Ahmed Khan (45), sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead upon arrival.

In another incident at 2:30 p.m., a transformer in the premises of a building in Kondhwa’s Mithanagar area caught fire. Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames promptly, and no injuries were reported in this incident.

At around 3:00 p.m., a closed wooden house near Sancheti Hospital in Shivajinagar caught fire. The cause of the fire remains undetermined, but no casualties were reported.

Meanwhile, in Yerawada’s Laxminagar area, a fire broke out on the first floor of a residential building in a densely populated neighborhood. Firefighters from Yerwada and Dhanori stations quickly brought the situation under control. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this incident either.
