Pune: The central government has provided significant support to Pune within its first 100 days, marking a milestone in the city’s infrastructure and transport development.

Two international flight services were launched from Lohegaon Airport, the Vande Bharat Express began operations, and the Swargate to Katraj underground metro project received official approval.

These initiatives, along with new funding for infrastructure, have set the stage for Pune's rapid growth over the next five years, said Union Minister of State, Murlidhar Mohol.

As the Narendra Modi-led government concluded its 100-day term, Mohol, who holds the portfolios of Cooperation and Civil Aviation, shared his insights about the government’s achievements.

Being a first-time Member of Parliament, Mohol noted that his direct appointment to two key ministries allowed him to quickly adapt and learn while balancing the responsibilities of both sectors.

Reflecting on the past months, Mohol acknowledged the initial challenges of managing ministry meetings and preparing responses to parliamentary inquiries but expressed confidence that his experience as Pune’s former mayor has prepared him well.

Although his current role involves national oversight, his focus remains on ensuring Pune's continued progress.

Several key developments have been initiated for Pune during the government's first 100 days. A new terminal at Lohegaon Airport has been inaugurated, and approval has been granted for the extension of the runway, paving the way for international flights to the U.S. and Europe.

The Shivajinagar to Swargate underground metro line is complete, and the Swargate to Katraj phase has received approval, with a groundbreaking ceremony expected soon. Additionally, the Mula-Mutha river rejuvenation project has secured Rs 670 crore in funding.
