Pune Hosts Corporate Governance Summit 2025, Highlights ESG Leadership and Innovation

Summit brought together over 1,000 CXOs and more than 35 leading search firms, emphasizing importance of ethical and innovative leadership in ESG practices and corporate governance.

Pune: The Corporate Governance Excellence Summit and Awards 2025 was recently held in Pune. The event was organized by the World Development Corporation (WDC) and the Directors' Institute - World Council of Directors in collaboration with the World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME).

The summit brought together over 1,000 CXOs and more than 35 leading search firms under one roof, emphasizing the importance of ethical and innovative leadership in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices and corporate governance.

Prominent figures such as Suresh Prabhu, M. Damodaran, and Yogesh Kadam, alongside ambassadors from over 15 nations, shared their insights on sustainability and corporate governance. Their discussions highlighted the growing importance of governance frameworks in achieving long-term sustainability goals.

Technological Innovation in Governance

A significant highlight of the summit was the unveiling of two advanced platforms:

  • LawTech (www.law-tech.co.in): This AI-powered platform aims to transform legal and judicial practices, introducing efficiency and innovation in the justice system.

  • BoardSearch.ai: Designed to simplify the search for senior CXO and board-level positions, this platform acts as a repository for high-level leaders not easily accessible through traditional methods.

Recognition of Excellence

The summit celebrated excellence in governance with the distribution of several prestigious awards:

Over 50 distinguished board members were presented with the "Inspiring Board Director Awards" for their exceptional contributions to governance and leadership.

Social activist Shrigauri Suhasini Suresh Sawant received the "Responsible and Impactful Personality" award for her efforts in promoting diversity and transgender representation.

Certifications for Independent Director and International Corporate Director were awarded to over 250 executives, recognizing their preparedness for leadership roles in global governance and innovation.
