Pune Hosts Grand Vintage and Classic Car Exhibition, Featuring Over 100 Rare Vehicles

The exhibition also featured rare motorcycles, including the famous Rajdoot from the Bollywood film "Bobby".

Pune’s automobile enthusiasts were treated to a spectacular Vintage and Classic Car Exhibition, featuring over 100 rare cars and more than 100 classic motorcycles and scooters from the last century. The event, organized by the Vintage and Classic Car Club of India, was inaugurated by renowned collector Yohan Poonawalla at the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC).

The exhibition showcased some of India’s most significant vintage cars, including:

India’s oldest running car – a 1903 Humber, owned by Abbas Jasdanwala from Mumbai

Dodge Kingsway, used by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s family

Convertible Impala, once driven by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi

Mercedes-Benz models formerly owned by Al Pacino, Balasaheb Thackeray, Amitabh Bachchan, and Vinod Khanna

1927 Rolls-Royce 20 HP, 1949 Bentley Mark VI, 1959 BMW Isetta 300, and 2015 Ferrari Aperta from Yohan Poonawalla’s collection

The exhibition also featured rare motorcycles, including the famous Rajdoot from the Bollywood film "Bobby" and a 1938 Norton 500, one of the oldest motorcycles on display.

Special Recognitions and Awards

In honor of Pune’s first mayor, Baburao Sanas, special trophies were awarded for the Best Vintage Car and Best Classic Car. The event also celebrated Yohan Poonawalla for his international achievements in automobile collecting.

The exhibition was supported by Michelin India, NM Tyres, RWITC, the Maharashtra Tourism Department, and the Western India Automobile Association (WIAA), with Venky’s Group as a sponsor. With thousands attending, organizers Nitin Dossa and Subhash Sanas expressed gratitude for Pune’s enthusiastic participation.
