Pune: A shocking case of filicide has surfaced in Pune, where an IT engineer allegedly murdered his 3.5-year-old son due to suspicions about his wife's character.

The Chandan Nagar Police arrested the accused father after discovering the child’s lifeless body in a forested area. The victim has been identified as Himmat Madhav Tiketi (3.5 years old), and his father is now in police custody.

Frequent Marital Disputes: The accused, originally from Visakhapatnam, had been experiencing ongoing marital conflicts with his wife due to suspicions about her character. On the day of the crime, the couple had another heated argument in the afternoon.

Leaving with the Child: Following the dispute, the father took his son out of the house. He first visited a bar in the afternoon and was seen drinking there. Around 12:30 PM, he left the bar, stopped at a supermarket, and then proceeded to the Chandan Nagar forest area.

Wife Reports Them Missing: As hours passed with no sign of her husband and child, the mother approached Chandan Nagar Police Station at night, filing a complaint about their disappearance.

Police Investigation and Discovery:

The police reviewed CCTV footage from the area and traced the father’s movements. By early morning, police located the accused in a heavily intoxicated state in the Chandan Nagar forest.

When questioned, he confessed to the crime, stating that he had killed his son. A police search of the area led to the discovery of the child's body with his throat slit.

The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigations are underway to determine the full circumstances surrounding this heinous act.
