Know With TBC: New Facilities for Visitors

To address the rising footfall during summer holidays, the zoo has implemented several measures:

  • Battery-Operated Cars: Visitors can now enjoy rides on battery-operated cars, making it easier to explore the zoo without the strain of walking in the heat.

  • Drinking Water Facilities: Additional water stations have been installed to keep visitors hydrated throughout their visit.

  • Toilet Blocks and Resting Sheds: New toilet facilities and resting areas provide much-needed comfort, especially for families with children or elderly members.

  • Seating Areas: Strategically placed seating areas allow visitors to take breaks and enjoy the surroundings.

  • Free Wi-Fi: Key locations within the zoo now offer free Wi-Fi, enhancing connectivity and convenience for visitors.

To accommodate the increased summer crowd, the zoo has extended its operating hours by half an hour, now open from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. This allows visitors to enjoy more time exploring the diverse wildlife and flora.

Katraj Zoo also offers educational programs for children, including monthly workshops and events focused on wildlife conservation. These initiatives aim to foster awareness and appreciation for nature among young visitors.

The zoo features an animal adoption scheme, allowing individuals to sponsor animals like elephants, tigers, and crocodiles for periods ranging from a day to a year. This initiative promotes empathy and support for wildlife conservation.
