Pune News: Laborer Dies After Falling From Third Floor in Kothrud

Pune Accident News: A 30-year-old laborer died after falling from the third floor while painting.

Pune, 5th June 2025: A 30-year-old laborer died after falling from the third floor while painting. The incident took place in a society in Rambagh Colony, Kothrud. In this case, the Kothrud police have registered a case against the contractor concerned for not providing any safety equipment to the laborer.

The deceased labourer has been identified as Jagatmurat Gulab Nishad (age 30, resident of Kelewadi, Kothrud, originally from Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh). Assistant Police Inspector Rajkumar Adagale has filed a complaint in this case.

The names of those who were booked are Aniket Dnyaneshwar Gadhai (age 25, resident of Pandit Nehru Nagar, Karve Road) and Yashwant Prabhakar Deshpande (age 53, resident of SuvarnaRatna Garden, Karve Nagar).

According to the police, the painting of a building in the Uma Mahesh Co-op Housing Society in Rambagh Colony was going on in the afternoon of April 20.

At that time, Nishad lost his balance and fell from the third floor. He was immediately taken to the hospital in a serious condition; however, he died during treatment. After it became clear that Nishad died due to the negligence of the contractor, a case was registered against him. Further investigation is being carried out by the Assistant Inspector Adagale.
