District Collector Jitendra Dudi announced that farmers who are willing to part with their land can submit consent letters starting Monday, August 25. The letters will be accepted for 21 days at the Pune District Collector’s office and the Saswad SDO office. He explained that those submitting consent will be eligible for extra compensation, while others will not receive this additional benefit.

Under the revised plan, the project will cover only half of the originally proposed area. Families losing their homes will be given 250-square-meter residential plots in the proposed Aerocity, along with monetary compensation. Farmers will receive four times the market value of their land, plus 10 percent of the acquired land back as a developed plot.

Officials estimate Aerocity plots to be worth between ₹1 crore and ₹2 crore, ensuring significant returns for affected farmers. Additional provisions include separate plots for multiple families within the same household, compensation for landless persons and small landholders, and priority for project-affected families in airport jobs.

The decision to reduce land acquisition was finalized on August 20, marking a major shift in the state’s approach to the long-delayed Purandar International Airport project.
