Pune: A passenger, identified as Manoj Kumar (40), died at the District Court Metro Station on Monday (July 1). The incident occurred while he was descending the escalator at approximately 6:30 PM.

Kumar suddenly collapsed on the escalator and was immediately rushed to the emergency medical room at the station by security guards. Despite receiving initial treatment from the on-site doctor and nurse, he was in critical condition and was subsequently transported to a nearby private hospital, where he was pronounced dead before arrival.

MahaMetro officials reported the incident to the Shivajinagar police, who have since sent the body to Sassoon Hospital for an autopsy. The exact cause of Kumar's death is yet to be determined and will be clarified through the autopsy report.
