Pune: In an effort to ease traffic congestion in the city, temporary changes will be implemented in three major areas—Airport, Baner, and Kharadi—from Wednesday (March 12). Pune Police Traffic Branch Deputy Commissioner Amol Zende has advised motorists to use alternative routes during this period.

Changes in the Airport Area

To reduce congestion at Symbiosis Law College Chowk, vehicles coming from Pune Airport towards Ramwadi via New Airport Road will not be allowed to turn right at Symbiosis Law College Chowk.

Alternative Route:

Motorists can take a U-turn at Dorabjee Mall Chowk or continue to Airport Chowk, then proceed via Petrol Depot Chowk to reach their destination.

Changes in the Baner Area

In the Baner-Pashan region, traffic congestion is common near Mahabaleshwar Hotel Chowk, Savitribai Phule Pune University, and Pashan Road. To address this, the following changes will be made:

Vehicles traveling from Baner-Pashan Link Road towards Savitribai Phule Pune University must take a left turn, make a U-turn near 45 Icon IT Company, and then proceed via Mahabaleshwar Hotel Chowk to the university.

Vehicles heading from Baner Village to Baner-Pashan Link Road should take a U-turn at Mauli Petrol Pump, return to Mahabaleshwar Hotel Chowk, then take a left turn to Baner-Pashan Link Road.

Changes in the Kharadi Area

Motorists traveling on Kharadi Bypass via Kharadi Dargah Chowk towards Kharadi Village or Yuan IT Park will not be allowed to turn right at Kharadi Dargah Chowk.

Alternative Route:

Drivers should continue 250 meters straight from Kharadi Bypass Chowk, take a U-turn near 'Aaple Ghar' Bus Stop, then take a left turn at Kharadi Dargah Chowk to reach their destination.

Officials have urged motorists to follow the new traffic diversions and use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience. These changes aim to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion in some of Pune's busiest areas.
