Road Closures and Diversions

Traffic will be restricted on several busy routes. Shivaji Road, from Gadgil Statue Chowk to Gotiram Bhaiyya Chowk, will remain closed, and vehicles will be diverted through Santaji Ghorpade Path, Kumbharves Chowk, and Shahiri Amar Sheikh Chowk. Vehicles heading towards Kumbharwada via Dengle Bridge will be redirected through Shivaji Bridge.

On Sinhagad Road, parking will not be allowed from Savarkar Statue Chowk to Samadhan Bhel Center. Instead, vehicles can be parked at Mitramandal Chowk to Patil Plaza and near Nilayam Bridge. Key stretches like Phadke Haud Chowk to Jijamata Chowk, Futka Buruj, Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk, Moti Chowk, and the road near Mangala Talkies will remain closed for all vehicles.

PMPML Bus Routes

City buses will also follow alternative routes. Buses from Shivajinagar Depot to Swargate will go via S.G. Barve Chowk, Jangli Maharaj Road, and Tilak Road. Similarly, buses from the Municipal Corporation Bus Stand to Swargate will take Jangli Maharaj Road, Alka Talkies Chowk, Tilak Road, and Shastri Road.

Parking Arrangements

To ease congestion, designated parking has been arranged at the following locations:

  • Kamgar Statue Chowk to Shivaji Statue

  • Santaji Ghorpade Path to Gadgil Statue

  • The riverside road between Tilak Bridge and Bhide Bridge

  • Minwha and Iron Parking near Mandai

  • Shahu Chowk to Rashtrabhooshan Chowk

Appeal from Police

Traffic police have urged citizens to avoid unnecessary private vehicle use and instead rely on public transport or ride-sharing. Special parking areas have also been created for mandals and immersion processions. “We request all citizens to follow the rules and cooperate with the police,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav.
