Pune News: Youth Accidentally Fires Gun During PUBG Game, Friend Injured in Pune’s Uttamnagar

In a shocking late-night incident in Pune’s Uttamnagar area, a young man accidentally fired a pistol while playing PUBG with friends, injuring one of them in the leg.

Pune, 4th August 2025: According to police, the incident occurred around 1:30 AM when five friends were gathered at a residence in Uttamnagar, playing the popular mobile game PUBG. During the game, one of them pulled out a pistol and began showing it to others. While loading and unloading the weapon, a bullet accidentally discharged and hit one of the friends sitting nearby. The bullet pierced through his leg, leaving him seriously injured.

In a panic, the group attempted to cover up the incident. They fabricated a story and had the injured youth call the police claiming that he had been attacked in a random shooting. When Uttamnagar police arrived at the scene and started questioning them, they quickly became suspicious. Upon further inquiry, the truth emerged.

Police have seized the weapon used in the incident and taken all five youths into custody. An official from Uttamnagar police station confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and appropriate action will be taken.

The police have urged citizens to avoid handling illegal or dangerous weapons and reminded people of the serious legal consequences involved.
