Pune Police Bust Prostitution Racket at Kharadi Spa, Three Women Rescued

The raid at Sun Shine Spa on Kharadi Bypass Chowk led to the arrest of the operators and manager under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.

Pune, 30 September 2025: The Chandan Nagar Police on Monday raided a spa in Kharadi and uncovered a prostitution racket being run under the guise of a massage parlour. The raid was conducted at Sun Shine Spa, located on the third floor of Ashoknagar Building at Kharadi Bypass Chowk.

During the operation, three women were rescued and shifted to a safe facility. Police booked the operators of the spa, identified as Sandeep Chavan, Rohit Shinde, manager Gopal, and Swati alias Shweta Vijay Suryavanshi. They have been charged under Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956, along with relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The raid was carried out on the basis of a tip-off. It was supervised by Deputy Commissioner of Police Somay Munde (Zone 4) and Assistant Commissioner of Police Pranjali Sonawane (Yerwada Division). Senior Police Inspector Seema Dhakane of Chandan Nagar Police Station led the team, which also included police officers and women constables.

Police said further investigation is underway to determine the extent of the racket.
