Pune: As part of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' seven-point action plan, Pune City Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar engaged in a discussion with IT companies in Magarpatta, focusing on key issues such as cybersecurity, women’s safety, workplace challenges, and traffic management.

The event took place on January 29, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Amphitheater near Aditi Garden, Magarpatta, Hadapsar, Pune, and was organized by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone-5, Dr. Rajkumar Shinde.

The discussion was attended by key dignitaries, including Pune City Joint Commissioner of Police, Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil, and Managing Director of Magarpatta Township, Satish Magar.

Representatives from various IT firms, including directors, managers, IT engineers, and employees, actively participated in the dialogue. Additionally, students from local schools in the Magarpatta area were also present, making the total attendance exceed 1,000 participants.

During the discussion, Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar highlighted the growing cybersecurity threats faced by IT professionals and companies. He urged IT firms to implement strict security protocols and collaborate with law enforcement to mitigate cyber risks.

He also assured increased police vigilance for women’s safety, emphasizing that the Pune Police are committed to creating a secure working environment for female employees in the IT sector. Traffic congestion in the Magarpatta area was another major concern raised, and the Commissioner assured efforts to enhance traffic management strategies.

In addition to IT-related concerns, Commissioner Kumar directed the Hadapsar Police to take strict action under the COPTA Act to ensure that school premises remain free from tobacco and cigarette use. He emphasized that Pune Police are dedicated to ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students.
