Pune: In response to growing concerns about traffic congestion and civic issues, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar visited Koregaon Park on Friday (January 17). The visit comes shortly after a global report ranked Pune as the fourth most traffic-congested city in the world.

During his visit, Commissioner Kumar conducted foot patrols through Koregaon Park, inspecting areas such as Lane Nos. 5, 6, and 7, along with North Main Road. Known for his strict discipline and proactive approach, Kumar took the opportunity to interact directly with residents to understand their grievances.

Citizens Share Concerns

Residents voiced concerns about severe traffic congestion, particularly on North Main Road, where long queues of vehicles form every evening, causing significant inconvenience. Other issues highlighted included encroachments and illegal parking, which exacerbate the traffic woes. Citizens also raised complaints about illegal stalls obstructing footpaths and creating further difficulties.

Immediate Action Assured

After understanding the issues, Commissioner Kumar assured residents that their grievances would be addressed. He directed police officers and relevant officials to implement immediate measures to resolve the problems. Kumar's visit and direct interaction with citizens were widely appreciated, as they felt heard and hopeful for prompt action.
