Pune Police Foil Drug Sale, Seize 12 Kg of Cannabis

Pune police seized 12 kilograms of cannabis valued at ₹2.5 lakh from a criminal attempting to sell the drug in the Kondhwa area.

The arrested individual has been identified as 37-year-old Mobeen Abdul Rashid Sheikh from Solapur's Sadar Bazar. He was caught with the illegal substance following a well-coordinated police operation.

According to the police, Anti-Narcotics Cell Assistant Police Inspector Nitinkumar Naik, Police Sub-Inspector Ramkrishna Dalvi, and their team were patrolling the Kondhwa area.

During the patrol, Police Constable Azim Sheikh received a tip-off that a person would be coming to Kondhwa to sell cannabis. To verify the information, the Anti-Narcotics Squad reached the location. They apprehended Mobeen Sheikh, who was standing by the roadside.

The police seized 12 kilograms of cannabis worth ₹2.4 lakh and a mobile phone, totaling ₹2.5 lakh in assets. A case has been registered against him at Kondhwa Police Station.

This operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Joint Police Commissioner Ranjankumar Sharma, Additional Police Commissioner Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Police Commissioner Nikhil Pingale, and Assistant Police Commissioner Satish Govekar.

The team included Police Inspector Sudarshan Gaikwad, Assistant Police Inspector Nitinkumar Naik, Police Sub-Inspector Ramkrishna Dalvi, Police Sub-Inspector Ghule, and Police Constables Sahil Sheikh, Azim Sheikh, Yogesh Mandhre, Chetan Gaikwad, Sandeep Shelke, Sandeep Jadhav, Nitin Jagdale, and Nilam Patil.

Pune Police have shifted their focus towards individuals purchasing drugs, aiming to dismantle the city's growing narcotic network. After a series of high-profile drug-related incidents, the Crime Branch has identified 119 people suspected of buying drugs. These individuals are now under police scrutiny.
