The incident took place around 9 PM, while the officers were on routine patrol duty. The two constables, Gopal Devsing Kotwal and Kajale, noticed a biker riding recklessly and stopped him for questioning. As they confronted the rider, his associates, who arrived on another bike, began arguing with the officers.

The argument escalated quickly, and all four men launched a sudden physical attack on the policemen, injuring both officers in the process. The situation was brought under control soon after, and backup was called.

The four attackers, identified as Junaid Iqbal Shaikh (27), Nafees Naushad Shaikh (25), Yunus Yusuf Shaikh (25), and Arif Akram Shaikh (25), have been arrested by the Pune Police. A case has been filed at the Khadki Police Station under multiple sections related to assault and obstructing government officers on duty.

Both injured officers are reported to be out of danger and are recovering.

This incident has once again brought attention to the growing instances of lawlessness and the lack of fear among offenders in the city.
