Pune: A police sub-inspector (PSI) from Pune, Anna Gunjal, was found dead near Tiger Point in Lonavala after allegedly hanging himself from a tree. The reason behind the suicide remains unclear, and an investigation is underway.

Officer Was Missing for Three Days

Gunjal was posted at Khadki Police Station, but he had been absent from duty for the past three days. During this time, his colleagues and family were unable to contact him. This morning, his vehicle was discovered near Tiger Point, and shortly after, his body was found hanging from a tree nearby.

A Diary Found in the Vehicle Could Hold Key Information

Investigators have recovered a diary from Gunjal’s vehicle, which they believe might provide insights into the reasons behind his actions. Lonavala Rural Police have reached the scene, while Khadki Police officials are also on their way to assist in the investigation.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the Pune police department, and officials are working to determine the circumstances leading to the PSI’s tragic decision. Further updates are expected after an in-depth inquiry.
