Pune: A prominent hotel in Kalyani Nagar, Pune, has come under scrutiny as the Pune Police have issued a show-cause notice, citing serious security concerns and questioning the continuation of its discotheque license.

The notice, signed by Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, has raised alarm, as it highlights the potential for the hotel to become a target for terrorist activities.

According to the police, the hotel has been a hotspot for disturbances, particularly involving patrons under the influence of alcohol.

With the current alert on terrorist activities, the police have expressed concerns that the hotel’s crowded discotheque could become a prime target for attacks, potentially resulting in significant loss of life.

The notice also points out that the hotel has repeatedly violated regulations and that the discotheque has been a source of nuisance for nearby residents.

Additionally, the hotel has a history of criminal complaints against it, further compounding the police's concerns.

The police have also criticized the hotel's lack of proper security measures, stating that there is no robust security system in place, and in the event of an emergency, there is no alternative security mechanism available. The show-cause notice warns the hotel of the potential consequences if these issues are not addressed promptly.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police on August 9 arrested Rizwan Ali, a terrorist affiliated with the ISIS Pune module, in a major operation just ahead of August 15.

Rizwan, a resident of Daryaganj in Delhi, had been declared wanted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which had also announced a bounty of ₹3 lakh for his capture. Rizwan and his associates had been involved in scouting several VIP areas in Delhi.
