Pune: A tuition teacher has been booked by the Bharti Vidyapeeth police for allegedly committing obscene acts with a schoolgirl. The incident came to light after the victim confided in her mother, who subsequently filed a police complaint.

According to the police, the accused, aged 25, ran a private tuition class attended by the victim. He reportedly showed her obscene videos and threatened her with punishment for any academic mistakes before engaging in inappropriate behavior.

Following the complaint, the Bharti Vidyapeeth police registered a case against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Assistant Police Inspector Dodmise is leading the investigation.

This incident is the latest in a series of reported crimes against minors in Pune. Recently, a school bus driver was arrested in Kondhwa for inappropriate behavior with a schoolgirl. In another case, a dance teacher from Karvenagar school was taken into custody for alleged sexual misconduct.

In August 2024, a private tutor Sadiq Mohammad Bidiwale, aged 38, a resident of Shravasthinagar, Ghorpadi, had been accused of molesting a 15-year-old female student, leading to the registration of a case by the Mundhwa Police. The accused runs a tuition center named S.S. Classes in the same area.
