Pune: Rajnath Singh to Attend Army Day Parade; Traffic Restrictions on January 15

Vishrantwadi to Khadki via Holkar Bridge traffic will be restricted. Shadalbaba Chowk to Khadki via Chandrama Chowk traffic will be closed.

Pune: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is set to attend the Army Day Parade on Wednesday, January 15, at the Bombay Engineer Group (BEG) grounds in Yerawada, Pune. The Pune Traffic Police have announced temporary traffic diversions and restrictions to ensure smooth movement during the event. These changes will primarily affect the areas between Chandrama Chowk and Holkar Bridge from 7 AM to 11 AM.

Key Traffic Regulations:

Parking Restrictions:

  • Parking of all vehicles is prohibited on both sides of the road between Alandi Road Chowk and Chandrama Chowk, and Chandrama Chowk to Holkar Bridge.

Heavy Vehicle Restrictions:

  • Heavy vehicles heading towards Yerawada from Harris Bridge in Khadki, Nagar Road’s Kharadi Bypass, Shastrinagar Chowk, Shadalbaba Chowk, and Vishrantwadi Chowk will be restricted from 6 AM to 11 PM.

Diversions for General Traffic:

  • Shadalbaba Chowk to Khadki via Chandrama Chowk: Traffic will be closed. Motorists should take alternative routes via Dr. Ambedkar Chowk, Alandi Chowk, Vishrantwadi’s Sapras Police Chowki, and the old Holkar Bridge.

  • Vishrantwadi to Khadki via Holkar Bridge: Traffic will be restricted. Motorists can use the route via Sapras Police Chowki and the old Holkar Bridge.

  • Bopodi Chowk, Khadki Bazaar, and Church Chowk towards Holkar Bridge and Yerwada: Traffic will be prohibited, and drivers are advised to use the Patil Estate and Wakdewadi route.

  • Old Mumbai-Pune Road to Khadki Bazaar via Poultry Chowk Underpass: Access will be restricted, and motorists should plan alternate routes.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zende has appealed to citizens to plan their travel accordingly and use designated alternate routes during the restricted hours.
