Statewide Impact of Cold Wave
The cold wave has been attributed to intensified northerly winds and the formation of a low-pressure area in the Andaman Sea. This phenomenon has caused a noticeable drop in temperatures across Maharashtra, including regions such as Vidarbha and Marathwada.
Mumbai, too, has experienced a dip in temperatures, with the mercury falling below 20°C. Vidarbha has reported some of the lowest temperatures in the state, underscoring the widespread impact of the ongoing cold spell.
