Pune: Sharad Pawar and Supriya Sule Visit Crime Scene at Bopdev Ghat

Pune: In the wake of a shocking incident that has shaken Pune and the entire state, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) party chief Sharad Pawar visited Bopdev Ghat on Tuesday (October 8) afternoon, where a young woman was sexually assaulted by three men.

The police investigation into the case is ongoing, with officials working around the clock to identify and apprehend the culprits.

The assault occurred on Thursday night (October 3) around 11 PM, when a college student, accompanied by a male friend, went to Bopdev Ghat for an outing.

Three unknown men confronted the pair, threatening them with machetes before physically assaulting them with bamboo sticks. The assailants then proceeded to sexually assault the young woman.

The brutality of the attack has caused widespread outrage, drawing attention from both local authorities and the general public. Police have so far questioned several individuals and analyzed CCTV footages from nearby areas.

As part of their efforts to ensure a thorough investigation, Sharad Pawar and Member of Parliament Supriya Sule visited the site of the attack around 2 PM on Tuesday. During the visit, Deputy Commissioner of Police R. Raja provided them with a detailed update on the progress of the investigation.

The police are actively pursuing leads and have intensified their efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice. The incident has sparked significant concern about public safety, and the authorities are under pressure to ensure that those responsible are swiftly apprehended.
