Pune: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a continued decline in the intensity of winter for the upcoming week. While the minimum temperature in the city dropped by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius over the last 24 hours, no drastic changes in weather conditions are expected immediately.

Dry conditions will prevail across Pune district over the next 24 hours, keeping minimum temperatures stable. Post this period, the city is expected to experience clear skies with some cloud cover during the afternoons. As a result, minimum temperatures may rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.

Winter's Grip Weakens

After a cold spell at the end of December, the city has witnessed a steady reduction in winter's intensity. Unseasonal rain earlier caused minimum temperatures to exceed 20 degrees Celsius, but the city had hoped for colder conditions as the new year began. Contrary to these expectations, Pune has not experienced biting cold in the last eight days.

In areas like NDA, Pashan, Shivajinagar, and Haveli, minimum temperatures have hovered between 9°C and 11°C, giving residents a mild chill. Meanwhile, the last two to three days have shown slight fluctuations of 1 to 2 degrees in minimum temperatures.
