In Pune’s Kondhwa area, a 27-year-old woman named Priyanka Akshay Gade reportedly took her own life after prolonged harassment by her husband, Akshay Rajendra Gade, over demands to bring money from her family.

Following a complaint from Priyanka’s father, the police have registered a case of abetment of suicide against Akshay.

Priyanka, who lived in Anandnagar, Handewadi, Hadapsar, had been married to Akshay, who is also from Anandnagar but originally from Kotan, Patoda Taluka, Beed District.

According to the complaint filed by Priyanka’s father, Ajinath Sitaram Chandane, Akshay had been pressuring Priyanka to secure money from her family.

Upon her refusal, Akshay allegedly resorted to verbal and physical abuse, which, over time, escalated to a point where Priyanka could no longer endure the suffering.

Shortly before her death, Priyanka wrote a note on a piece of cardboard, attributing her decision to end her life to her husband's harassment. Initially, the case was recorded as an accidental death.

However, after receiving a formal complaint from Priyanka’s father, the police officially registered a case against Akshay under abetment of suicide.

Assistant Police Inspector Amit Shete is leading the investigation as the police examine the circumstances surrounding Priyanka's tragic death.
