Pune: In a shocking incident, the body of a woman was discovered inside a water tanker in Phursungi near Hadapsar on Thursday (June 20) morning. The incident has caused widespread fear among the local residents.

The deceased woman has been identified as Kaushalya Mukesh Morya, a 25-year-old resident of Dugad Chawl near JSPM College in Handewadi. A missing person's report had been filed for her at the Kondhwa Police Station.

The incident occurred around 9 AM when a water tanker, as part of its routine, arrived at the Power House area. Residents had gathered to collect water. Initially, water flowed normally, but it abruptly stopped. Upon inspection, the tanker driver found a piece of a sari stuck in the outlet. When he climbed up to look inside the tanker, he was horrified to find the woman's body.

The driver immediately alerted the Hadapsar police, who arrived swiftly at the scene. They retrieved the body and conducted an on-site investigation before sending it to Sassoon Hospital for an autopsy.

This unsettling discovery has prompted an urgent police investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the woman's death and how her body ended up in the water tanker. Senior Inspector Santosh Pandhare from Hadapsar Police Station is investigating the case.
