Punjab CM Amarinder Singh calls for an all-party meeting on farmers' stir

In the meeting, the officials will discuss the current developments in farmers' ongoing agitation in Delhi, especially with regard to Republic Day violence

Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister, Punjab announced to call for an all-party meeting on February 2 to discuss the farm laws issue and farmers protest in Delhi. This came in the light after the recent developments on farmers agitation in Delhi.

According to sources, the meeting is scheduled to be held at 11 am in Punjab Bhawan.

In the meeting, the officials will discuss the current developments in farmers' ongoing agitation in Delhi, especially with regard to Republic Day violence, assault on farmers at Singhu border and major vilification campaigns against them.

While urging every party to take part in the meeting to support the farmers and to help Punjab, the Chief Minister also said that the crisis caused by the new laws is a matter of concern for the whole state and its population. We can only overcome this crisis through the collective efforts of all the people and political parties of the state. The crisis that has arisen can be tackled effectively and the farmer's interest can be protected, he added.

The CM said, "Our farmers are dying out there at the Delhi borders for more than two months now. They are being beaten by the police and assaulted by goons. They are being harassed by being deprived of basic amenities."

He further stresses, "This is not the time to stand on ego but to come together to save our state and our people."
