Pune: In a move aimed at easing commuting for IT employees, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has announced the launch of two new bus routes connecting Ravet to Hinjewadi Phase 3 and Ravet to Pimpri. These new services are expected to provide better public transport options to professionals and residents in the area.
New Bus Routes and Their Benefits
As per the official announcement:
Route No. 375 will operate between Ravet and Hinjewadi Phase 3, catering primarily to IT professionals and other employees working in Hinjewadi.
Route No. 13 will connect Ravet to Pimpri, providing improved accessibility to commercial and industrial hubs.
At present, PMPML operates a fleet across 472 routes covering Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and the PMRDA region. However, only a few routes generate profits, while most operate at a financial loss. In response, PMPML has started implementing a revised strategy for introducing new routes to improve services while ensuring financial sustainability.
The Ravet area has seen rapid urban development, with several new residential societies coming up. Despite this growth, there has been no direct public transport service from Ravet to Hinjewadi, forcing residents to rely on private vehicles or shared transport options.
Given that a large number of people from Ravet commute daily to Hinjewadi and Talawade for work, PMPML decided to introduce these new services to address the growing demand for efficient and affordable public transport.
