Pune: MediBuddy has released a comprehensive report detailing its impact in 2024. The platform supported over 1.27 crore Indians, underscoring the rapid shift towards digital healthcare and revealing key insights into evolving health trends.
A significant finding from the report is that 40% of healthcare appointments were booked for family and friends, showcasing the importance of collective well-being in Indian households. Among these, 44% were for parents, reflecting younger generations’ involvement in caregiving. Spousal health made up 33%, while 11% were for children.
MediBuddy highlighted a shift in consultation timings, with 37% of online appointments happening after 6 PM. This trend reflects the demand for round-the-clock healthcare access, catering to busy, modern lifestyles.
The report identified gastroenterology, paediatrics, and dermatology as the top specialties on the platform. Increasing awareness of digestive health, the need for paediatric care, and attention to skincare issues like acne drove this trend.
The transition to digital healthcare resulted in significant environmental benefits. Digital medical reports saved enough paper to protect 1,195 trees, capable of absorbing approximately 30,000 kg of CO2 each year. Online consultations further prevented 2.75 million kg of CO2 emissions, reinforcing the eco-friendly potential of telemedicine.
MediBuddy’s phlebotomists traveled 80 lakh kilometres to provide home collection services. Notably, 25% of these healthcare workers were women, highlighting the organization’s commitment to gender empowerment.
