Pune: The Primary Education Department has extended the deadline for admissions under the 25% reserved seats in the Right to Education (RTE) Act to August 5th.

This extension aims to provide parents with sufficient time for their children's admissions and to increase student enrollment in schools.

Originally, the admission process for the 25% reserved seats under the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, for the 2024-25 academic year was scheduled from July 23rd to 31st. However, a review of the RTE 25% admission process indicated the need for an extension.

As a result, the deadline has been extended from August 1st to 5th. Regional officers have been instructed to complete the admissions within the extended period. Additionally, the State Director of Primary Education, Sharad Gosavi, has stated that no further extensions will be granted.
