RTE Admission Selection List Released: Over 1 Lakh Students Selected, 85,000 on Waiting List

Pune district received 61,573 applications for 18,498 available seats across 960 schools, and 18,161 students have been selected.

Pune: The Right to Education (RTE) admission selection list for 25% reserved seats in private schools has been released. A total of 1,01,916 students have been selected through the online lottery system for 1,09,087 available seats across 8,863 schools in the state. Meanwhile, 85,406 children remain on the waiting list.

The online lottery system for RTE admissions was conducted on Friday, attracting a large number of applicants. The education department received 3,05,152 applications for the available seats, highlighting the intense competition for free education under RTE.

Admission Deadline and Document Requirements

  • Parents of selected children must complete the admission process by February 28.

  • Original and attested copies of the submitted documents are required.

  • Allotment letters must be printed from the RTE portal or collected from the verification committee.

  • A printed copy of the RTE guarantee letter must be carried during admission.

Checking Admission Status

  • Parents will receive SMS notifications regarding admission status.

  • However, they should not rely solely on SMS and must check the "Application Status" tab on the RTE portal.

Waiting List Procedure

  • Parents of waiting-list students must check their application number on the RTE portal.

  • SMS notifications for waiting-list students will be sent after the admission deadline for selected students expires.

District-Wise Admission Statistics

  • Pune: The district received 61,573 applications for 18,498 available seats across 960 schools, and 18,161 students have been selected.

  • Thane: A total of 25,774 applications were submitted for 11,322 seats in 627 schools, with 10,429 students securing admission.

  • Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The district saw 16,776 applications for 4,408 seats in 562 schools, and 4,349 students made it to the selection list.

  • Nashik: Out of 17,385 applications for 5,296 seats in 407 schools, 5,003 students have been selected.

  • Nagpur: With 29,913 applications for 7,005 seats in 646 schools, a total of 6,912 students have secured admission.
