Pune: The Maharashtra government has announced the commencement of the online application process for admissions to 25% reserved seats in private schools under the Right to Education (RTE) Act for the academic year 2025-26. The process, which opens on January 14, will remain active until January 27. Parents can access the portal https://student.maharashtra.gov.in/adm_portal to submit applications for their children.
Eligibility and Reservation Details
As per the RTE Act, 2009, Section 12(C)(1), 25% of seats in self-financed, unaided schools, police welfare schools (unaided), and municipal self-financed schools are reserved for students from economically weaker and disadvantaged groups.
Admission Process
Single Phase Lottery: Once applications are submitted, a single-phase lottery will be conducted.
Waiting List: A waiting list will be prepared equal to the number of available seats.
Admission Timeline: Selected students will be provided sufficient time for admission, and subsequent admissions from the waiting list will follow in phases if required.

Income Criteria: The annual family income should not exceed ₹1 lakh.
School Selection: Parents are advised to carefully select 10 schools for the application.
