Pune: Union Minister of Telecommunications Jyotiraditya Scindia launched a scathing attack on the Congress party during the 'Samvidhan Gaurav Abhiyan' (Constitution Pride Campaign) organized by the BJP to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution. Scindia accused the Congress of misusing the Constitution for its convenience and alleged that the party’s "Mohabbat Ki Dukaan" is filled with "products of hatred."
The event, held in Pune, was attended by prominent leaders, including MP Dr. Medha Kulkarni, MLAs Sunil Kamble, Hemant Rasane, MLC Yogesh Tilekar, campaign coordinator Amit Gorkhe, state general secretary Rajesh Pandey, and city president Dheeraj Ghate.
"Congress Has Always Disrespected the Constitution"
Addressing the gathering, Scindia alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent statement in Parliament about waging a war against the Indian State reflects the party's ideology. Scindia emphasized that the BJP, during its 10-year tenure, has honored the Constitution and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar by implementing reforms such as 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and assemblies, reservations for economically weaker sections, and the abolition of triple talaq.
In contrast, Scindia accused the Congress of disrespecting both the Constitution and Dr. Ambedkar, citing their efforts to defeat him in the Lok Sabha elections during his time.
First Campaign Event in Pune
Campaign coordinator Amit Gorkhe highlighted that this was the first event of the 'Samvidhan Gaurav Abhiyan' and aimed to bring the values of the Constitution and Dr. Ambedkar's vision closer to the public.
Scindia’s Connection with Pune
Scindia made an emotional appeal, saying, "I am not a guest in Pune; I belong to this land. This soil’s history and valor are unforgettable. Pune holds a special place in my heart as it was here that Sardar Mahadji Shinde, inspired by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, sacrificed his life while fighting to hoist the saffron flag on the Red Fort."
UCC to Fulfill Babasaheb’s Dream
Scindia emphasized that implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) was a long-held dream of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. He mentioned that the UCC has already been implemented in Uttarakhand and will soon be rolled out nationwide. Scindia criticized Congress further, saying, "The Congress only respects those with the surname Nehru or Gandhi, as evident from their past actions against Babasaheb Ambedkar. Today, the BJP has eliminated Congress’s presence in Maharashtra."
