Pune: The shocking murder of businessman Satish Wagh has brought to light an 11-year-long illicit affair between his wife, Mohini Wagh (48), and Akshay Jawalkar (32). The duo conspired to kill Satish after years of domestic disputes and violent confrontations stemming from their relationship.

In 2001, Akshay's parents rented a room in the Wagh family's Phursungi residence. At the time, Akshay, aged 9, formed a close friendship with Satish and Mohini’s son, who was the same age. Over the years, the two families developed a bond. However, when Akshay turned 21, his relationship with Mohini, then 37, turned romantic, sparking a secret affair.

Despite Akshay’s marriage in 2016 and his family's relocation, the affair persisted. When Satish discovered the relationship, frequent arguments erupted, coupled with allegations of domestic violence against Mohini.

A Carefully Planned Murder

Frustrated by Satish’s presence, Mohini, with Akshay’s assistance, orchestrated a murder plot. Akshay roped in his friends with promises of financial gain. On the morning of December 9, as Satish left home for his routine walk, he was abducted in a car by the accused.

Within minutes, Satish was brutally murdered. His assailants inflicted over 70 stab wounds before discarding his body in the remote Shindawane Ghat. Initially, the crime was presented as a kidnapping for ransom to mislead investigators.

Uncovering the Truth

The police, however, delved into Mohini and Akshay’s backgrounds and scrutinized their call records. This detailed investigation revealed their long-standing affair and the murder conspiracy. Both Mohini and Akshay have since been arrested, alongside their accomplices.

Mohini Wagh and Akshay Jawalkar were presented before a Judicial Magistrate (First Class) court in Pune. Police have demanded a 5-day police custody for the suspect duo.
