Pune: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has taken decisive action in Baramati, instructing all Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) officials in the taluka to resign within the next eight days. This directive comes in the wake of the party's defeat in the recent Lok Sabha elections. Pawar's move aims to rejuvenate the party with new and energetic officials.

During a meeting held on Monday (5th) in Baramati, Pawar demanded the resignations from the officials. He stated that reappointments would be made before August 15, giving opportunities to loyalists.

Pawar has been on a tour of Baramati since Sunday. He held a public program in Borkarwadi on Sunday and then visited Baburdi. During his tour, many people expressed dissatisfaction with the current officials.

In response, Pawar made an immediate decision on Monday. He stated that it is unacceptable for officials to only attend his events and not perform their duties properly. He added that many complaints have reached him about the mismanagement by some officials.

Pawar urged everyone present to introspect and questioned whether their booth had received a majority of votes for the NCP symbol. He assured that new appointments would be made before August 15.

Recently, at a meeting of the Pune city unit of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in the Kasba Assembly constituency, Ajit Pawar had announced that the party will contest the upcoming local self-government elections independently.

For the past two years, local self-government elections have not been held in the state, leading political party workers to wonder when these elections will take place.
