Pune: In response to rising water levels, a warning has been issued for residents in the flood-affected regions around Sinhagad Road.

Water has begun to inundate Dwarka Society in Ekta Nagari, with the Irrigation Department releasing 27,000 cusecs of water into the river. The Municipal Corporation has advised all residents in the area to remain alert.

Heavy rainfall is anticipated in the dam regions, as forecasted by the Meteorological Department. In light of this, residents are advised to remove their two-wheelers and four-wheelers from the parking areas and to lock their houses after taking essential and important items.

Flood relief centers have been set up to assist residents. These include the Savings Group Center near Suncity Vegetable Market, Anushree Mangal Karyalay at Manikbag, and the Late Rameshbhau Wanjale Swimming Pool Hall on Suncity Road.

Moreover, arrangements will also be made in four municipal schools within the Sinhagad Road regional office jurisdiction, according to information provided by the Sinhagad Road regional office.

Meanwhile, water is flowing from the river channel. Water has reached the ground floor (parking) of Dwarka Society. In Vitthal Nagar, water from the stream merging into the river causes a backflow through the sewage lines, resulting in water entering residents' homes and increasing water levels in the area.

Meanwhile, the fire brigade has issued a cautionary alert in the area.
