Pune: The Sinhagad Road Police exposed an illegal black-market operation involving domestic gas cylinders. A suspect, identified as Vikas Dhondappa Akale (31), was arrested during the raid. Akale, a resident of Charwad Vasti, Vadgaon Budruk, and originally from Solapur, was found in possession of 61 gas cylinders and a tempo.

The police revealed that Akale was previously apprehended two months ago for a similar offense. Acting on reliable information, the police team learned about the illegal storage and covert sale of gas cylinders in the Wadgaon Budruk area.

Under the leadership of Senior Inspector Dilip Daingade, the team set a trap and raided the location. Upon inspection, a tempo containing the illegally stocked cylinders was discovered. Akale was immediately detained, and a case was registered against him at Sinhagad Road Police Station.

Police are currently investigating the source of these cylinders and the locations where they were being sold. Preliminary findings suggest that the black-market operation may have had a larger network, and further inquiries are underway.

The operation was executed under the supervision of Senior Inspector Dilip Daingade and Crime Inspector Uttam Bhajanawale, with active participation from Assistant Inspector Sachin Nikam, Sub-Inspector Santosh Bhandwalkar, and police officers Sanjay Shinde, Anna Kekaan, and Uttam Taru.
