Snapchat Blackmail: Three Arrested for Forcing Minor Girl to Send Nudes

Social media exploitation cases: Accused used the platform to engage in explicit chats, threaten her and also shared obscene content with the victim and making demands for sexual favors.

Pune, 2nd December 2024: In a shocking case of cybercrime, the Loni Kalbhor police arrested three individuals for allegedly exploiting a minor girl through the Snapchat platform. The accused reportedly forced the girl into sending explicit photos under threats of blackmail.

The incidents took place between November 1 and November 25. According to police officials, the accused befriended the minor girl on Snapchat despite knowing her age.

They used the platform to engage in explicit chats and threaten her with exposing her online interactions to her family. Under coercion, the girl was compelled to send nude photos.

The accused further escalated their harassment by sharing obscene content with the victim and making demands for sexual favors.

Upon learning about the exploitation, the victim’s mother promptly reported the matter to the police, which led to the arrest of three of the four suspects.

The investigation, led by Assistant Police Inspector Khose, is ongoing to apprehend the fourth suspect.

Authorities are urging parents to stay vigilant about their children’s online activities and are assuring strict actions against such cyber offenses.
