Pune: A tragic incident unfolded in the Sathe Nagar area of Daund city, Pune district, where an unemployed man, in a fit of anger, killed his father after being thrown out of the house.

The Daund Police have identified the deceased as Sunil Laxman Randive, aged 57, while his son, Sachin Sunil Randive, aged 35, has been arrested for the crime.

According to police reports, Sachin had been facing ongoing family issues. His wife had left him and returned to her maternal home in Solapur due to disputes between the couple.

Sachin had recently gone to Solapur to bring her back, but she refused to return with him, which escalated his frustration. On October 6, he returned to Daund in an enraged state and began arguing with his parents.

Despite their attempts to calm him down, Sachin continued his outburst, leading his father, Sunil Randive, to lock him out of the house around 2 p.m. the same day.

On Sunday night, Sachin returned to the house and found his father sleeping outside. In a fit of uncontrollable anger, Sachin picked up a concrete paver block and struck his father on the head.

The severely injured Sunil Randive was rushed to the Daund Sub-District Hospital, where he received initial treatment before being transferred to Sassoon General Hospital in Pune. Despite medical efforts, Sunil Randive succumbed to his injuries on October 7 during treatment.

Following the incident, Sunil Randive’s wife, Jayshree Sunil Randive, lodged a complaint with the Daund Police. A case of murder has been registered against Sachin, and he has since been taken into custody.
