Pune: In celebration of the 84th Raising Day of the Army Dental Corps, the Command Military Dental Centre (Southern Command) conducted a special Oral Health and Oral Cancer Detection Camp at the ECHS Polyclinic in Satara. The initiative aimed to provide vital dental care services to veterans and Veer Naris, honoring their contributions to the nation.
The camp was inaugurated by Brig SK Roy Chowdhury, SM, Deputy Commandant of CMDC (SC), and was supported by a team of specialists, including Col Prasun Mukhopadhyay (Periodontics), Col Bensy Varghese (Prosthodontics), Lt Col Kiran L Awchat (Prosthodontics), Lt Col T Balasundaram (Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery), Maj Ranjoy Hazra (Prosthodontics), Maj Jacqueline Jacinta Dias (Periodontics), and Maj Vallari Jain (Endodontics).
During the camp, 125 patients were screened and treated for a variety of oral health conditions. The team also conducted oral cancer screenings for all attendees, emphasizing early detection and preventive care.
Educational sessions were organized to raise awareness about oral health and hygiene, particularly for the elderly, addressing their unique health needs with empathy and expertise.
This initiative demonstrated the Army Dental Corps' unwavering commitment to the welfare of those who have served the country. It highlighted the significance of providing comprehensive healthcare services to ensure their well-being.
