Speeding Car Kills Zomato Delivery Executive in Delhi; Eyewitnesses Describe Tragic Scene

Police reported on Friday that a 25-year-old food delivery worker lost his life in a late-night crash close to the Subhash Nagar Metro Station in West Delhi. Hem Shakar, who lived in Raghubir Nagar, was working for the rapid delivery service Zepto when the accident happened. As per Delhi Police, the event occurred at approximately 3:26 am close to the Subhash Nagar Metro traffic signal on Najafgarh Road.

According to investigators, a Hyundai Verna, reportedly traveling at high speed, collided with Shakar's electric scooter from the rear. Witnesses at the scene informed the police that the car crashed into the two-wheeler, resulting in significant damage.

According to an eyewitness, the event occurred at approximately 2:30 AM. While on duty at the pump, I heard a loud noise and rushed over. The boys involved had been drinking, and the car was traveling at about 150. The vehicle struck the Zomato rider...

"...A delivery executive mentioned, 'During the night, a black car struck him, resulting in his death. We used to work together on night shifts.'

Authorities discovered the wrecked electric scooter and the Verna car at the crash site. The car's driver, 27-year-old Mohit Kumar from Najafgarh, who is employed as a contractor with the Municipal Corporation, was apprehended. The vehicle involved in the collision has been confiscated.

Officials reported that a case has been filed at the Tilak Nagar police station, and further legal actions are underway.
