Pune: Savitribai Phule Pune University has announced the results of its PhD entrance examination for various departments and affiliated research centers.

The results have been made available online through the students’ login portal, and the university has urged candidates to download their results from their accounts.

The exam, conducted online across examination centers in Pune, Ahmednagar, and Nashik, saw a large turnout, with 10,752 students applying for the entrance test.

However, 1,645 students did not attend the exam. Of those who participated, 2,761 students successfully qualified for PhD admission, while 6,346 students did not meet the qualifying criteria.

The entrance exam was held for approximately 1,200 PhD seats available within the university’s departments and affiliated research centers.

The number of seats may increase as vacant positions in autonomous colleges have not yet been included in the current count. This could potentially offer more opportunities for students seeking admission.

The university has indicated that the detailed admission process will be announced shortly, guiding the qualified candidates on the next steps to secure their PhD positions.

SPPU conducted PET across 18 centers in Pune, Ahmednagar, and Nashik. The exam, which covered 40 subjects, saw participation from 9,128 candidates out of the 10,700 who applied.

Despite initial technical difficulties at one of the centers in Pune, the university swiftly addressed the issue, allowing the exam to proceed without further interruptions.
